Are there any honest people left in this world.
I find it very disenchanting to go out every day and engage in interaction with peole who always try to screw you. It is especially sad that many of these people are ones who claim to be shomer torah and mitzvos. why is it that there is no shame when it come to money?
I just went to buy lunch in a restaurant on the Upper West Side. I looked at the menu and decided that I wanted a Hamburger. The menu said it was $10.00, so why did the cashies try to charge me $13.00? well I just walked out. What would you do?

come to lakewood. the reciepts at npgs get reviewed regularly. i have gotten called by them that they shortchanged me 3 cents! and next time i come just tell the cashier. done.
I get mad at such things, but depands how houngry I was, would i be real houngry i would pay whatever they asked, but not caome back.

As a Jew, you should always give people the benefit of the doubt!
Maybe you had an old menu that was accidentally still in circulation!
Even if it wasn't a mistake, State Law requires that the restaraunt sells you the food at the price advertised on the menu, not necessarily, at the price listed on the register.
Just speak with the manager and he should correct the problem immediatly.
If he doesn't, just lay the money (Cost as posted on menu) on the table and walk out. If they feel you need to pay the inflated price, have them to call the Police.
Civil and Jewish Law are both on your side, there aren't any Halachic problems. If anything, they are trying to cheat you and you should consult your local VAAD.

Further to the post about Yakov Chaim Grossman, please be aware that he has not stopped his molestation. He has ruined many children and boys. Some of whom have gone off the derech. He is currrently davening in Pinters, Brichim Haboim Shul and in Kretchnef on Upper Clapton Road.
Police have nabbed him on Friday. All victims are asked to contact the local police station where you can make a report anonymously without giving you name and you will not be asked to come to court or sign any statements.
